Drink Plenty of Water
Drinking water throughout the day helps to curb your appetite, flush toxins and wastes from your body that cause weight gain. If you do not like the taste of water, here are some tasty water recipes
- Stir together 1 cup of halved pitted cherries, 2 cups pineapple chunks, and 3 granny smith apples that are cored and sliced real thin. You can add your desired amount of water. 16 ounces is a good start.
- Combine five thinly sliced cored Fuji apples with 5 whole cinnamon sticks with desired amount of water.
- If you are in the mood for something spicy you can stir together two cucumbers that are thinly sliced and two sliced and seeded jalapeno peppers to your desired amount of water.
Two Halves Are Better Than One
You can take the portion size that you normally eat and split that into two meals. You would be surprise of how full you will be. You will be cutting your calories in half and saving time on meal preparation.
You can also eliminate eating pre-packaged and processed foods from your diet. This will help to cut your caloric intake. If you choose to go fresh, eat only fresh ingredients you prepare yourself. You should stay away from foods that come prepared in cartons, boxes, packages, bags and cans.
De-Flour Your Diet
Eliminating enriched flour foods from your diet can really kick start your weight loss. Foods like white breads, pastas, and pastries should be avoided.
Walk It Off
You can shed 10 pounds easily if you can take a vigorous 2 minute walk every 30 minutes. To spice things up a bit, walk the dog or the neighbors dog, take a friend, or listen to music.
If you have a partner or are married, you both can burn sixty calories each while engaging in intimate relations.
Eating out not only burns a hole in your wallet but it also adds inches to your waistline. When you dine out, you add about 134 more calories to your diet; so save your money, lose the weight, and eat at home.
Start keeping a journal of everything you eat and do. This way you are holding yourself accountable of what you put in your body and how you spend your time. As you read over your journal, you will discover why you are having trouble losing the weight. People who keep a weight loss journal or food log are able to lose more weight and keep it off than people who don’t.
Some people find it helpful and encouraging to network with others who are having the same issues. You can engage with other people on Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus that are struggling with weight loss. People often share what they have done to lose the weight.
